Death Valley National Park
After leaving the Grand Canyon, we made our way to Death Valley National Park. I now know and understand why it has the name it does. Death Valley is a vast national park with over three million acres to explore and hike. We stayed inside the park at one of the campgrounds for one night and boondocked, which is sleeping outside in a tent or special vehicle on land that does not have any services. We tried to stay at The Oasis at Death Valley, but was sold out due to an exposé on television. I can assure you, if you are going to Death Valley, this is the place where you need to stay. It’s absolutely beautiful.
The highlight of our trip to Death Valley was The Harmony Borax Works. Borax was found near Furnace Creek Ranch in 1881. 40 men produced the Borax and than it was hauled by a 20 mule team into the households of America. A very impressive feat by any means. Although Death Valley wasn’t my personal favorite place to visit, it was definitely interesting. Our next stop will be a little south of Death Valley, Joshua Tree National Park. Some of the pictures we took are below. LET’S GO!
