Tombstone, Arizona

After leaving White Sands National Park, we headed to Tombstone, Arizona. Obviously, I love the movie Tombstone and all the other Wyatt Earp movies and stories, so we had to check it out. We stayed at an RV park right on Allen street in the heart of the historic district. Also, we got very lucky the dates we stayed, as it was called “Tombstone Vigilante Days”. During these events, the vigilantes of Tombstone are in full effect, wandering the streets, reenacting gun fights, getting in trouble with the law, and having a great time. It would have still been a great time visiting, but with the vigilantes in full swing, it was like stepping back right into the 1880’s.

Some of the great attractions we visited were the O.K. Corral, where we watched a reenactment of the famous shoot out between Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday and the McLaury’s and Clanton’s. We also visited The Saloon Theatre, Old Tombstone Western Theme Park, The Famous Birdcage Theatre, The Good Enough Mine, Ike Clanton’s Haunted House, and numerous shops.

Lastly, there are plenty of places to eat and have some drinks while visiting Tombstone. Some of our personal favorites were Big Nose Kate’s Saloon, Doc Holiday’s Four Duces and The Crystal Palace Saloon. All of these establishments have basically remain in the original buildings from the 1800’s and have a real authenticity about them. Again, it’s if you are literally stepping into the past. Last but not least the Tombstone Brewing Company. I love visiting brewery’s and this little brewery had some really tasty beverages. Do yourself a favor and read about the history of Tombstone, it is definitely a wild story. I think if I was close by, we would check out Tombstone again. Great vibe, great people, great time. The pictures we took are below. Next stops are Saguaro National Park and Petrified Forest National Park and I can’t wait. LET’S GO!
